A Peek at This week

Transportation is "wheelie" fun!

On Wednesday we painted with toy cars.  The children could not get over the fact that I have a hot dog car!

It was neat to see the colors mix as we rolled and rolled and rolled.

"Writing the Room" is one of our new favorite centers.  Each week there are word cards hidden around the room that feature our focus letters.  The children use a clipboard to walk around the room and find six of the words they need.

They look so serious walking around with clipboards.

We've also been adding books to our book bins.  We will keep these at school until the end of the year so we can practice with them.

We've been practicing our handwriting in these neat dry-erase sleeves.  It makes it seem cooler and they are super easy to erase.

On Friday we wrapped up our unit on Transportation unit with a visit from Parker's dad and the giant gas truck.

We had lots of questions.

We each got to climb up in the cab of the truck and pull the horn.  No complaints from the upper grades.

The horn was LOUD!

What a good looking group!

Parker passed out "real" ink pens at the end.

Here we are with our Penny wars Slug.  Remember to send change to feed it.
