Bye Bye Duckies!

Our sweet and fun to watch ducklings quickly outgrew their container!

We prepared to send them to their new home.

The students decorated transport boxes.

Zaila and McDougal

On the same day we bid goodbye to the ducks and chicks, Rocky and Darth Vader came back to the class.  Rocky is half the size of DV but otherwise doing fine.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped make our party a success!  The children had a blast and didn't seem to mind the heat at all. Have a wonderful Easter!

Rocky the Chick's Return

Rocky the Chick returned to Sr. K on Tuesday to assimilate with the other chicks.  The two brown ones, Blush and Bashful, we think are roosters and are very aggressive.  Ironically, Darth Vader seemed to be the most nurturing and was chosen to spend time with Rocky.

Here you can see that Rocky is about half the size of the other chicks.

Special thanks to Lila's mom, Dr. JJ for her tireless efforts to save our tiny chick!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Carolyn!

A HUGE thank you to Lila's mom, Dr. JJ for her tireless efforts to save the two weak chicks!!

Candling the Eggs

We candled the eggs this week.  In each one we were looking for an air pocket at the top and a darker section with sometimes visible blood vessels.    This was a good egg.

This was our one bad egg.  Can you see how the whole egg is glowing?
