Haystacks! (Finally!)

We finally had a chance to make our Haystacks!

We melted butterscotch chips and peanut butter, then stirred in Chow Mein Noodles.

The children scooped forkfuls onto waxed paper.

Some of us had time to let our cools and harden, some of us ate them warm and gooey.

Veteran's Home Visit

Students in Senior K through Seventh Grade visited the State Veteran's Home this morning to sing and spread cheer.

The Veterans are always so happy to see us.

Mrs. Ginna led the school's newly formed choir in a sweet song.

We gave the Veterans cards that we made.

This lady told us she was 96 years old.

Teaching small children to respect and honor our Veterans is very important to me.  Thank you for helping me with this.

A Real Veteran Came to Visit!

Mrs. Deb's husband, Colonel Jerrel, came to visit us today and talk about his time in the Marines.

We had LOTS of questions for him.

He also brought lots of fun memorabilia to show the children.

Graeme is checking out the compass.

Lizzie too.

He let us try on his fatigues.

Lizzie turned the mess kit into a purse.

Aren't we a sharp looking bunch!

Farrah brought a photo of Navy ships to show.  Her dad was in the Navy.
