New Life in Senior K!

After three weeks of anticipation, one egg finally started to crack.  The children watched it progress all morning until finally....

A tiny, wet chick emerged!

Chicken number 1....to be named soon.  In this picture you can see his egg tooth on the end of his beak.

The children were enamored with him.

By Sunday, he was even fluffier and his egg tooth is gone.

Chicken number two surprised me on Sunday.  He's still a little wet in this picture.

Here they are, getting to know each other.

Eventually, I had to separate the two because the older one began to pick on the younger one.  Hopefully they will get along soon!
