We have four new Math Tub games that the children love. In this game called "Two Digit Big Man", students flip over two cards and try to make the biggest number possible. A 5 and a 9 could make 59 or 95. The object is to make the highest number you can in order to win your opponent's cards.
"Number Rolls" are Jackson's and Sharp's favorite. They started last Monday on number 1 and are both now over 1000! It took a while for the class to understand that they can't write the numbers to infinity. :-)
"Three Card Zero" has students flipping over three cards then adding the sums. The player with the highest sum wins the cards for the round.
In this game, "Chop", players chop a known amount of cubes into two pieces. The other player puts one set behind her back. The "chopper" then has to look at the shown cubes and figure out how many are behind the other player's back.
